Attended the SCBWI Conference in NYC

The conference was informative and — tiring. I enjoyed the panel on humor, but it was very general and I would have liked more specifics. When I teach workshops, I assign my participants to create a joke that their main character would find funny. I think it is a great way to “meet” your character. The Writer’s Center just asked me to write a blog entry for First Person Plural and I wrote on this topic.
